Welcome to Bhutan, the Land of the Thunder Dragon! Once you arrive at Paro Airport, you’ll be taken to your hotel in Thimphu. After checking in, the rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the city at your own pace. You can visit Ludrong Memorial Garden to see a variety of Bhutanese plants and flowers. You may also experience Bhutanese culture at Simply Bhutan or visit the Deer Park, inspired by the one in India. Later, make your way back to the hotel on your own.
In the morning, set off to explore the main sights of Thimphu. Start with a visit to the famous National Memorial Chorten and admire its detailed religious artwork. Then, see the towering Buddha Dordenma statue and spot the unique takin, Bhutan’s national animal, at the Motithang Preserve. You’ll also get to appreciate the traditional Bhutanese architecture of Tashichho Dzong and Simtokha Dzong. Finish your day with some shopping at the Handicrafts Emporium before being driven back to your hotel.
Today, after checking out, you’ll be transferred to Paro, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. Once you arrive, head out for a sightseeing tour of Paro. Begin with a visit to the ancient Drukgyel Dzong and explore its historic ruins. Then, take in the breathtaking views of Mt. Jhomolhari and visit Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. After the tour, you’ll be driven to your hotel in Paro for check-in and an overnight stay.
In the morning, you’ll be transferred to Satsam Chencho Tshongkhang for a hike to the beautiful Taktsang Monastery. Once there, begin your hike through the pine forest, enjoying the scenic views along the way. At the top, take time to explore the monastery and admire its incredible cliffside setting. Afterward, dive into Bhutan’s rich history with a visit to Paro Rinpung Dzong, a grand fortress. Once the tour is finished, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel.
In the morning, get ready and check out of your hotel in Paro. Then, take your transfer to Paro Airport for your flight home. This concludes your wonderful trip to Bhutan!
